Early Life and Career

V. Sekar was born in the village of Neivattanam near Thiruvannamalai. He began his career at the age of 19 as a lab assistant at AVM Studios. Before entering cinema, he also worked as a malaria eradication staff member in the Corporation Health Department.

His entry into mainstream cinema began when he joined director K. Bhagyaraj as an assistant, contributing to films like Enga Chinna Rasa (1987). This laid the foundation for his future as an independent filmmaker.

Rise as a Director

V. Sekar made his directorial debut with Neengalum Herothan (1990), a film appreciated for highlighting the contrast between on-screen personalities and real-life behavior of actors.

Over the years, he collaborated with top comedians including Kovai Sarala, Goundamani, Senthil, Vadivelu, and Vivek, adding humor and relatability to his family-centric narratives.

Legacy and Impact
