Fans of Farzi finally have a reason to celebrate. On February 10, marking the third anniversary of the hit crime thriller, creators Raj & DK officially confirmed that Farzi Season 2 is in the works. The announcement came through a post on X, with Shahid Kapoor also joining in to fuel the excitement.
Along with the confirmation, the team released a teaser image carrying the striking message "Round 2 in Progress", signalling that the sequel is officially moving forward. Raj & DK's use of the hashtag #Farzi and the caption "Sunny days back soon" strongly hints that production will begin soon, with reports suggesting filming will start in March 2026.
Shahid Kapoor will reprise his role as Sunny, the brilliant yet troubled artist-turned-counterfeiter who became the heart of the first season. The announcement instantly reignited the hype surrounding Farzi, which premiered on February 10, 2023.
The debut season was a massive success, becoming the most-watched Hindi web series of 2023, attracting nearly 37.1 million viewers in its first year. Season 1 ended on a tense note, with Sunny fleeing after a dramatic fallout with his best friend Firoz, while remaining under the constant pursuit of his formidable adversary, Michael. The final moments, showing Sunny boarding a train to escape the chaos, left viewers eager for answers.
Season 2 is expected to take the story into darker and more contemporary territory. Unlike the first season, which focused on physical currency and traditional counterfeiting, the upcoming chapter will reportedly explore modern financial crimes, including crypto fraud, digital counterfeiting, and the hidden dangers of a tech-driven economy.
Given Raj & DK's reputation for detailed storytelling and extensive post-production work, including dubbing in multiple languages for global audiences, Farzi Season 2 is likely to take time before reaching screens. The series is expected to premiere on Amazon Prime Video in late 2026 or early 2027.
For now, the "Round 2" update makes one thing clear: Sunny is back, the game has changed, and the world of Farzi is gearing up for another high-stakes battle.
