Concerns are growing over the delay in releasing the censor certificate for Jana Nayagan. Is there a motive behind it?. The people of Tamil Nadu are eagerly awaiting the actor Thalapathy Vijay's last film, as he has officially entered politics and announced his decision to work for the people. Fans want to witness him on the big screen one final time before his full-time political journey begins.

Following the grand success of the Jana Nayagan audio launch held in Malaysia, fans became emotionally connected to the film's scenes, Songs, action sequences, and Vijay's final dance performance. The excitement further increased after the trailer was released on January 03, 2026.

However, discussions on social media soon emerged claiming that the film is a remake of the Telugu movie Bhagavanth Kesari. Director H. Vinoth addressed these rumours and clarified that while the Telugu film may have inspired one or two scenes, Jana Nayagan is not a complete remake.

As the film's release date approaches, the delay in certification by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has raised serious concerns. What is the reason behind this delay? Despite the pending certificate, bookings have already opened in IMAX screens and select theatres for the first-day-first-show (FDFS).

Some theatres have opened bookings only for January 09, while others have scheduled continuous screenings for four days. However, many theatre owners are holding back advance bookings, waiting for official confirmation from the CBFC.

If the certification process is further delayed or the film's release is postponed, questions arise about ticket refunds. While refunds for single-day bookings may not be a major issue, what will happen to audiences who have booked tickets for four consecutive days? Will theatres refund the full amount? These uncertainties have left fans and exhibitors anxious.

The biggest question remains: will the CBFC release the censor certificate before the scheduled release date, or will the process face further delays? With fans waiting in anticipation, the coming days will be crucial for Jana Nayagan.
