Thalapathy Vijay's anticipated film Jana Nayagan has once again been sent to the CBFC review committee after the makers agreed to implement fresh cuts suggested by the censor board. If the revised version is cleared, the film is expected to hit theatres later this month.
According to sources, KVN Productions has accepted the changes recommended by the certification authorities and is preparing for a possible February 20 release, provided the final clearance comes through without further objections.
The film was initially slated for a January 9 theatrical release, but plans were derailed after a member of the CBFC's screening committee raised concerns. The objections reportedly centred on certain scenes that were said to hurt religious sentiments potentially and on the portrayal of the armed forces, prompting the board to seek modifications.
