A murder case has been registered against the son of Union Home Minister Ajay Kumar Misra in connection with violence in Uttar Pradesh held on Sunday.

In Banveerpur, near Dikunia in Uttar Pradesh's Lakhimpur Kheri district, a function was organized to mark the participation of Deputy Chief Minister Kesava Prasad Maurya on Sunday.

Farmers in Uttar Pradesh were waging a series of protests against the Central government's new agricultural laws, intoned slogans on both sides of the road in Dikunia with black flags. Then a car parade of BJP volunteers came that way. One of the cars collided violently with the farmers. 

The enraged farmers resorted to great violence at the spot. They set fire to two cars of the BJP and attacked the members who were inside the car. Eight people, including two farmers, were killed in the violence. Following the incident, Deputy Prime Minister of Uttar Pradesh Keshav Prasad Maurya cancelled his visit.

The farmers claimed that the car had deliberately collided with them and Ashish Misra, son of Union Minister Ajay Misra, was in the car.

But Union Minister Ajay Mishra said his son was not in the car. The case has been registered on fourteen people, including Ashish Misra, the son of Union Minister Ajay Misra. Meanwhile, Union Minister Ajay Misra said there is a piece of video evidence that his son was not at the spot when the incident happened.
