On November 14, the Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police arrested Immadhi Ravi, the key accused in the movie piracy websites iBomma and Bappam, which are alleged to have caused losses exceeding ₹1000 crore to the Telugu film industry.
The arrested individual is Ravi Immadi, a 39-year-old native of Visakhapatnam. He has been involved in this illegal activity since 2019. It is estimated that Ravi Immadi fraudulently earned around ₹20 crore through film piracy. The total loss to the Telugu film industry due to his actions is estimated at over ₹1000 crore.
The investigation revealed that Ravi Immadi had created a malware on his website. The personal and bank details of users who downloaded movies from these websites were sent directly to Ravi. He then sold this information to cyber criminals.

During the arrest, it was found that more than 21,000 films had been collected and uploaded to websites from a hard disk seized from Ravi. He was illegally releasing movies using servers located in foreign countries.
About ₹ three crore from Ravi's bank account has now been blocked. Ravi made crores of rupees in profit by releasing new movies on fake websites. His arrest is considered a severe warning to film piracy gangs.
