India's documentary film 'The Elephant Whisperers' has won an Oscar for Best Documentary Short Film. The joy is celebrated in and across the nation.

India's documentary film 'The Elephant Whisperers' has won an Oscar for Best Documentary Short Film. The film, shot in Mudumalai Tiger Reserve in the Nilgiris district, has won an Oscar.

Bomman and Belli, a couple from the tribe, work as elephant keepers at Theppakkad in Mudumalai Tiger Reserve, Nilgiris district. In 2017, a male baby elephant, separated from its mother, wandered around injured in the Krishnagiri district. This baby elephant has been brought to the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve and is being cared for by Bomman and Belli after naming it Raghu.

Documentary filmmaker Karthik Konsalves has made the entire story of the lovely animal. The director beautifully pictured the daily life of the cute baby elephants and their connection with their caretakers. The cinematography is extraordinary. The elephant whispers film holds an emotional connection even after the film ends. In this case, 'The Elephant Whisperers' has won the Oscar award.

"I stand here today to speak for the sacred bond between us and our natural world, for the respect of indigenous communities, and empathy towards other living beings we share space with and finally, for coexistence," Gonsalves said in her acceptance speech.
