CBSE Board Exam 2026 Date Sheet Released Early

Today, The Central Board of Secondary Education released the final date sheet for the upcoming Class 10 and Class 12 Board Examinations for the 2026 academic session. The main examinations for both classes are scheduled to commence on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
The complete subject - wise timetable is now available for download on the official website
This year, CBSE has released the schedule 110 days before the first exam - the earliest in board history. The early release became possible because schools submitted their List of Candidates (LOC) on time.
This move brings several benefits:
All exams will start at 10:30 AM and end at 1:30 PM. The CBSE has also ensured that there are no clashes between subjects offered by students and provided sufficient gaps between major papers for better preparation.
From 2026 onwards, CBSE will follow the two-exam system for Class 10, in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
This change aims to reduce exam pressure and provide students a fair chance to improve their marks.
For Class 12 students, the CBSE has carefully planned the schedule to avoid overlapping with major entrance tests, such as the JEE (Main). This gives students extra time to balance both board and competitive exam preparation.
Schools have also been asked to share Class 11 Registration Numbers with students early to help them during the JEE registration process.
Dr Sanyam Bhardwaj, Controller of Examinations, stated that CBSE avoided over 40,000 subject combinations while preparing the date sheet. This ensures that no student faces two exams on the same day, allowing for better time management.
Students and parents should now mark the dates, create a subject - wise study plan, and focus on regular revision. This early roadmap from CBSE is a great opportunity to prepare calmly and confidently for the 2026 board exams.
