The most exciting much-awaited air show conducted by The Indian Air Force (IAF) is all set to exhibit on Marina Beach in the city on October 6. The airshow is being held as part of the 92nd anniversary of the Indian Air Force, honoured on October 8.

The Indian Air Force's air show display is scheduled to take place at Marina Beach from 11 am to 1 pm. The massive flypast at Marina Beach will be witnessed by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

To accommodate the event, the Greater Chennai Traffic Police has announced traffic diversions and advised people to use the metro and MRTS services for faster commuting.

The official GCTP mentioned in their X, "As the Indian Air Force (IAF) prepares to host a spectacular air show on 06.10.2024, at Marina Beach, the Greater Chennai Traffic Police urges the public to plan their travel accordingly to ensure a smooth experience."

The main stage will be assembled in front of the Vivekananda House, providing a great vantage point for spectators to witness the thrilling aerial display. Viewers are encouraged to spread out along the entire Marina stretch to enjoy the breathtaking aerial show. The aircraft will take off from the lighthouse and soar towards the Indian Naval Station (INS) Adyar.

The lineup of participating teams at Marina includes the Akash Ganga team, the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT), the Sarang Team, LCH, Tejas, Chetak, HTT-40, Rafale, Dakota, Pilatus PC-7, Harvard, C-295, DO-228, AEW@C, Mig-29, IL-78, Mirage, P8i, Jaguar, and Sukhoi.

The IAF Air Show at Marina Beach is set to showcase a total of 72 aircraft, which will be flying in from Sulur, Thanjavur, Arakkonam, and Bengaluru. The Indian Air Force (IAF) has ambitious plans to secure a place in the Limca Book of Records by expecting an impressive turnout of around 1.5 million spectators.

This event presents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the public to experience an awe-inspiring air show in Chennai. The airshow is being held as part of the 92nd anniversary of the Indian Air Force, honoured on October 8.
