In a dramatic turn of events, the Enforcement Directorate arrested K Kavitha, a prominent leader of the BRS party, from her residence in Hyderabad last Evening. The arrest sent shockwaves through the political landscape, particularly in Telangana.

Kavitha's arrest comes at a critical juncture, just a day before the Lok Sabha Polls schedule announcement, raising suspicions of political motives behind the timing. The Enforcement Directorate presented her at the Rose Avenue court in the national capital today, adding further intensity to the unfolding situation. While taking for the interrogation, Kavitha said that the case was illegal and fabricated.

Reacting to the arrest, Kavitha's brother and former Telangana minister, KT Rama Rao, voiced strong condemnation, alleging an abuse of power by the BJP government. He emphasized the need for the Enforcement Directorate to answer the Supreme Court regarding the urgency of the arrest, especially when the matter is scheduled for review in a couple of days.

Former Telangana minister KT Rama Rao, in a post on, 'Abuse of power and institutional misuse to settle political scores is something that has become increasingly common with BJP Govt in last ten years.

ED needs to answer the Supreme Court on the inordinate rush to arrest when the matter is very much subjudice and up for review in a couple of days, on March 19th. What's even more appalling is the ED undermining its own undertaking given to the Hon'ble Supreme Court: ' Justice shall prevail, and we will continue to fight legally.'

The arrest is linked to a money laundering case associated with the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy. Despite Kavitha being granted immunity from interrogation until Wednesday by the Supreme Court, the Enforcement Directorate proceeded with the arrest, prompting concerns over the agency's adherence to legal procedures.
