March 31st is celebrated as Easter among Christians. Good Friday and Easter are considered government holidays, but in many companies, they are considered working days due to company policies.

In this case, Easter Sunday has been declared as a government working day in the state of Manipur. As the financial year is about to end, the state government has declared the 30th and 31st (Saturday and Sunday) as government working days.

The announcement has caused controversy in Manipur, a predominantly Christian state in India. The state's tribal body stated that the government's order had offended the sentiments of the Christian community. The Naga Students' Federation is the largest representative body for students of the Naga people, has called for the immediate withdrawal of this order.
