Oil companies set petrol and diesel prices on the basis of international crude oil prices and the value of the Indian rupee against the dollar. Meanwhile, petrol and diesel prices have been rising steadily over the past few days.

In many parts of the world, people suffer because of the recession, rising fuel prices, and rising commodity prices. In various countries, it has become a political problem.

Motorists and drivers are suffering as petrol and diesel prices continue to rise. Even today, petrol and diesel prices have gone up. Petrol price was increased by 76 paise per litre. In Chennai, petrol is sold at Rs 110.85 per litre. Diesel price increased by 76 paise per litre. Diesel is priced at Rs 100.94 per litre. Petrol price has been hiked by Rs 9.56 in the last 16 days.

Diesel price has been hiked by Rs 9.86. Mumbai is one of the most expensive metro cities in India. Petrol price in Mumbai is approaching 120 rupees. There, petrol prices were hiked by 84 paise and diesel by 85 paise. In Mumbai, petrol sells for Rs 120.51 a litre. Similarly, a litre of diesel sells for Rs 104.77.

Petrol and diesel prices have been hiked for the first time in India in the last 16 days. Apart from 2 of these 16 days, petrol and diesel prices have been hiked for another 14 days. Petrol and diesel prices are being hiked by 30-80 paise per day.
