Rahul Gandhi Disqualified As Lok Sabha MP After Conviction

A case was filed in the court on behalf of the BJP that Congress MP Rahul Gandhi had spoken in the 2019 Lok Sabha election campaign, saying that people named Modi were thieves during the election campaign and that he indirectly attacked Prime Minister Modi.

In the verdict given yesterday in this case, the Surat Court ordered Rahul Gandhi to be found guilty and sentenced to 2 years imprisonment. The Lok Sabha Secretariat has announced that Rahul Gandhi will be disqualified from the post of M.P.

Lok Sabha Secretariat had informed that this disqualification of Rahul Gandhi would come into effect yesterday when the sentence was announced. Rahul Gandhi was elected M.P. from Kerala's Wayanad constituency in 2019. MP Rahul Gandhi's disqualification from the post has caused shockwaves in Congress.
