Tamilisai Soundararajan Resigns as Governor to Contest Lok Sabha Polls

Tamilisai Soundararajan, the Governor of Telangana and Puducherry, has reportedly written a letter to the President to resign from her post. The reason for her resignation is said to be her intention to contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

In the 2019 parliamentary elections, Tamilisai Soundararajan contested in Thoothukudi constituency. Tamilisai Soundararajan, who lost in this, was appointed as the Governor of Telangana on September 1 of the same year. 

After that, in February 2021, Tamilisai Soundararajan was also given the additional responsibility of Puducherry Deputy Governor.

In this situation, Tamilisai Soundararajan has written a letter to the President to resign from the post of Governor as the date of the parliamentary elections is now announced. 

It is said that Tamilisai Soundararajan may contest on behalf of the BJP in any of the parliamentary constituencies like Kanyakumari, Nellai and Thoothukudi.
