TNPSC Group I 2019 Exams – Details and Dates:TNPSC Group I exams are the best job offering of the Tamil Nadu State Government. From 27 Deputy Collectors to 2 District officers it offers 139 prestigious jobs in 2019. Already the preliminary examinations were conducted on 3.3.2019 and results of it announced on 4.6.2019. Now the main exams will be conducted only in Chennai from July 12 – 14. Eligible candidates can write the main exams to enter into the Tamil Nadu Government services.

But for the exams to be conducted as scheduled by TNPSC it depends on the order of the High Court, Madras. On June 20 Justice Parthiban has reserved orders on petitions challenging the release of preliminary exam results. Out of the 200 questions each carrying 1.5 marks, nearly 17 questions had wrong answer keys, and one question itself was wrong. But the TNPSC replied it has formed a committee and awarded marks for all those who attended the questions.

Also, in the reply, they explained to the court that the petitioner marks were not even near the cutoff marks of the general category. Hence the Hon'ble Judge has reserved the orders.

What are the cutoff marks for the 139 seats for all categories?

The general category as per the reservation quota has 31 of the 139 seats. Though the eligibility to write the main exams is 120 marks and 90 for all other categories the cutoff marks for selection of posts will be as follows:

For general category, the quota is 31 seats. As per the TNPSC rules they can select up to 50 candidates for each position. That makes the total number to be selected to around 1550 candidates. The marks of the 1550 candidate will be the cutoff mark. The higher the cutoff marks will get better posts, and the lower cutoff marks will get the last list of jobs out of the 31 positions. It applies the same way to all the other categories according to their quota number of posts.
