In Kerala, a group of students entered an Excise office mistook as a workshop and asked for Matchbox to smoke their rolled-up marijuana (ganja) on October 21. This created concern among the people as school students are using drugs.

School Excursion :

The shocking incident occurred on October 21 in Adimali, during a school excursion involving students from an aided school in Thrissur. After a meal at a nearby hotel, a group of students mistakenly approached the bottom of the Excise office, thinking it was a workshop.

They requested a matchbox to smoke the rolled marijuana. When the students realized they were officers, they attempted to flee but were caught. However, the officers ceased the banned substances like ganja, and hashish oil, as well as tools used for consuming these drugs from higher secondary students.

Police Case:

A case was registered against two minors found with illegal substances. During the search, the banned items were recovered. In this case, all the students received counseling. While other students were sent back with their teachers, the parents of the two minors were summoned to the office.

It was reported that the students had pooled money to purchase the substances from local drug peddlers. The Excise Department plans to proceed with legal actions against the involved students.
