Approximately 60 Russians, including residents and tourists, participated in early voting for the Russian Presidential elections at a booth set up at the honorary consulate of the Russian Federation, Russian House, in the Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday.

Sergey Azarov, Senior Consul at the Russian Consulate General in Chennai; Vice Consul Alexey Taresov; and Kavitha Nair, Deputy Director of the Russian House, oversaw the election process.

The majority of Russian voters came from Ernakulam, Varkala, and Kovalam. These votes will be counted after the final phase of polling for the presidential election ends in Russia on March 17. The eighth presidential election in Russia is scheduled from March 15 to 17.

Ulia, a Russian citizen, said fellow natives in Kerala are thankful to the Russian house and consulate general in India for allowing them to vote in the Presidential polls.
