On the night of March 14, the Election Commission of India made public the data on electoral bonds. This data revealed the names of companies and individuals who bought these bonds and donated them to political parties. 

Surprisingly, there were no donations made in the name of Adani Group and Reliance. On the other hand, many unexpected names topped the list of donors.

Top Electoral Bond Donors and their respective donation amounts are listed below:

  • Future Gaming and Hotel Services PR donated ₹1,368 crore.
  • Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd donated ₹966 crore.
  • Qwik Supply Chain Pvt Ltd donated ₹410 crore.
  • Vedanta Ltd donated ₹400 crore.
  • Haldia Energy Ltd donated ₹377 crore.
  • Bharti Group donated ₹247 crore.
  • Essel Mining & Industries Ltd donated ₹224 crore.
  • Western UP Power Transmission Company Ltd donated ₹220 crore.
  • Keventer Foodpark Infra Ltd donated ₹195 crore.
  • Madanlal Ltd donated ₹185 crore. 

Between April 1, 2019 and February 15 of this year, 22,217 electoral bonds were purchased. Out of these, political parties redeemed 22,030 bonds. The remaining bonds not redeemed by political parties within 15 days were transferred to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund, as stated by the SBI.
