TVK President Vijay to Headline Women's Day Event in Mahabalipuram

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) President and actor Vijay will headline a special International Women's Day event on Saturday, during which the party is expected to announce a series of welfare initiatives for women ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assemb

The event is scheduled from 3 pm to 5 pm at the Four Points by Sheraton in Mahabalipuram. According to party sources, the gathering will focus on unveiling schemes and policy proposals designed to support women's welfare and empowerment.

Entry to the venue will be restricted, and QR-coded passes are mandatory for attendees. For those unable to attend in person, the event will also be broadcast for public viewing, allowing supporters across the state to follow the announcements.

TVK leaders have also planned Women's Day celebrations across districts on March 8, during which party members and volunteers are expected to organise programmes highlighting women's rights, welfare, and social progress.

The event comes at a time when Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, launched in 2024, is gradually expanding its political presence in the state. The party has positioned itself as a new political alternative that blends Dravidian principles with a strong emphasis on Tamil identity and pride.

With the Women's Day programme, TVK appears set to highlight women-centric policies as a key part of its political narrative while strengthening its outreach across Tamil Nadu.
