Seahawks Dominate Patriots as Bad Bunny Makes Halftime History

The Seattle Seahawks delivered a dominant performance to defeat the New England Patriots 29–13 in Super Bowl 60, held at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Powered by an elite defensive display and flawless kicking, Seattle claimed its second Super Bowl title, the first since 2014.
Seattle's defence set the tone early, overwhelming Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, who was sacked six times and struggled to find rhythm against the Seahawks' top-ranked unit. Despite a tense opening half, neither team reached the end zone until late in the game.
The breakthrough came in the fourth quarter, when Seahawks tight end AJ Barner caught a touchdown pass from Sam Darnold following a costly Patriots fumble, pushing Seattle ahead 19–0. From there, the momentum firmly swung in the Seahawks' favour.
Kicker Jason Myers played a crucial role, drilling five field goals, a new Super Bowl record, and ensuring Seattle kept the scoreboard ticking throughout the night. The Patriots briefly revived hopes of a comeback when Mack Hollins scored on a 35-yard touchdown reception, but the rally was short-lived.
Maye was intercepted twice in the closing stages, including a pick-six that effectively sealed the contest as the Seahawks comfortably closed out the game. The final whistle confirmed a comprehensive victory built on defensive discipline and execution.
Off the field, the halftime show also made history. Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny headlined the Super Bowl halftime performance, becoming the first artist to deliver an entire set in Spanish. His nearly 14-minute performance celebrated Latino culture and featured appearances by Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin, as well as a symbolic moment that included a wedding ceremony on stage.
Toward the end of the show, Bad Bunny addressed the crowd with a roll call of countries across North, Central, and South America, including Uruguay, Colombia, Venezuela, Cuba, the United States, and Canada, highlighting unity and cultural pride.
However, the performance sparked political controversy. U.S. President Donald Trump criticised the halftime show, calling it "absolutely terrible" and an affront to American greatness. He also suggested the performance would receive praise from what he described as the "fake news media," despite strong reactions from fans worldwide.
In the end, Super Bowl 60 delivered more than just a championship game. From Seattle's defensive masterclass to a culturally significant halftime show that ignited national debate, the night stood as a reminder that the Super Bowl is as much a cultural event as a sporting spectacle.
