In many families, children are suffering from the loss of their parents due to the coronavirus infection. Thus, the demand for providing relief assistance for the welfare of orphaned children was put forward by various quarters.

On this note, Chief Minister MK Stalin decided to provide relief to children who have lost their parents. Following this, he announced on the 29th of last month. Accordingly, it was informed that a deposit of Rs. 5 lakhs would be kept in the name of the children who have lost their parents by Covid 19.

In addition, the Government of Tamil Nadu has announced that Rs. 3 lakhs will be provided as immediate relief assistance for children who have lost one of their parents and Rs. Three thousand per month will be provided for the maintenance of children growing up with the support of relatives or guardians.

A committee headed by the Finance Secretary has been set up to formulate the Government's guidelines regarding these relief aids. This group has laid down and published guidelines. Accordingly, a deposit of Rs. 5 lakhs provided by the Government of Tamil Nadu will be deposited in the e-Finance Company.

This money will stay there until the children grow up and reach the age of 18. Guidelines are in place to ensure that affected children receive that money with interest upon attaining 18 years.

In addition, the Government of Tamil Nadu has already issued notices regarding the welfare of children who have lost their parents due to corona infection.

Accordingly, it was informed that children who have lost their parents would be given priority accommodation in government houses and hostels. The Government will accept all tuition and accommodation fees until graduation.

And to notice, the District Collectors are preparing a list of children who have lost their parents due to corona in all the districts of Tamil Nadu. The Government of Tamil Nadu has directed to gradually provide relief assistance to the affected children in all the districts.

Today, Chief Minister MK Stalin launched this project to benefit children who have lost their parents due to corona at the Chennai General Secretariat.

At that time, the Chief Minister provided assistance and inquired about the health of the children. The Chief Minister was accompanied by Minister of Social Welfare and Women's Rights Geetha Jeevan, Member of the Legislative Assembly Udayanithi Stalin, Chief Secretary and key officials.

This scheme had gained the attention of the people. This scheme is appreciated by many, and the benefits of this scheme will help the children when they are in need during their matured age.
