Police arrested eight people, including a DMK councillor, in the case of an army soldier being beaten to death in a clash between two parties in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu.

Army soldier Prabhakaran (33) hails from the MGR town of Pochampalli taluk in the Krishnagiri district. He has a brother Prabhu (28), who is also working in Army. Chinnaswamy (58), a DMK councillor of the 1st ward of Nagarasampatti, belongs to the same village. His son Gurusuryamurthy (27) works as a constable in the Chennai Municipal Armed Forces.

In this case, on February 8th, Prabhakaran's sister was washing clothes near the public water tank. When Chinnaswamy asked about this, there was an argument between Prabhakaran's mother, who came there and Chinnaswamy.

Then again that evening Chinnaswamy, his sons Gurusuryamurthy, Gunanidhi, Rajapandian and some others argued with Prabhakaran. At that time, the enraged Chinnaswamy party attacked Prabhakaran.

His brother Prabhu and his father went between them to stop the dispute. Prabhu was severely injured and fell even after the accused beat him. The three were injured, rescued, and taken to Hosur Private Hospital for treatment.

In this case, the soldier Prabhu, who was undergoing treatment at the Hosur private hospital, died on February 14th. The Nagarasampatti police converted it into a murder case.

Also, the police arrested two persons, including DMK councillors Chinnaswamy and Kaliappan. The police are actively searching for the other accused, who are currently absconding.
