Chennai Met Forecasted Heavy To Moderate Rain In 17 Districts

The Chennai Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains in 17 districts of Tamil Nadu today. It is raining in Tamil Nadu due to atmospheric circulation and warming. Heavy rain has been reported in some places.

It has been raining in Chennai for the last one week. According to the Met Office, it will rain in Tamil Nadu today due to atmospheric circulation and convection over the Northern Hemisphere.

The Met Office has forecast heavy rains in 17 districts, including Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, Tirupati, Namakkal, Vellore, Ranipettai, Tiruvallur, Thiruvannamalai, Kanchipuram, Kallakurichi, Dindigul and Karur today.

Light to moderate rain with thundershowers will occur at a few places in Tamil Nadu, Puthuvai and Karaikal. Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, Tirupati, Namakkal, Vellore, Ranipettai, Tiruvallur, Thiruvannamalai, Kanchipuram, Kallakurichi, Dindigul and Karur districts are likely to receive heavy showers.

According to the Met Office, light to moderate rain is likely in one or two places in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry from tomorrow (Friday) to the 22nd (Sunday).

For Chennai, the sky will be partly cloudy for the next 48 hours. Showers or thundershowers in some parts of the city. The maximum temperature will be around 36 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature will be around 27 degrees Celsius.
