The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M.K. Stalin, announced the Kalaingar Magalir Urimai Thogai (Women's Rights Grant) on September 15, 2023, a scheme for the welfare of women in Tamil Nadu. Every woman head of a family will receive Rs. 1000 per month.

On Tuesday, March 3, an unexpected joy knocks at the doors of people across Tamil Nadu. In response to the specific group of women's voices, Stalin acts without prior announcement.

The Tamil Nadu government announces that a Special amount for widows, senior citizens, transgender people, and people with disabilities will receive a monthly pension. The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister has deposited Rs. 2000 into the account of women in vulnerable groups.

It was credited to over 38 lakh beneficiaries in the state, addressing their financial distress and inadequate financial status. Under this scheme, over 29.29 lakh have been allocated for senior citizens and widows, who receive Rs 3,200 each; about 5.92 lakh for persons with disabilities, who receive Rs 3,500 each; and about 2.5 lakh for persons with severe disabilities, who receive Rs 4,000 each.

Further expanding this scheme, it also concerns 1,62,900 fishing families. Each family benefits by receiving 8000 during the fishing ban from April to June. Besides this, it will allocate Rs 8.53 crore to tea farmers.

As per CM's previous plan, Kalaingar Magalir Urimai Thogai provides numerous benefits to the people of Tamil Nadu, and the new scheme adds further advantages and welfare measures.

As the State Assembly elections approach later this year, the party has begun intensifying its preparations, focusing on strengthening grassroots networks, energising cadres, and sharpening its campaign strategy.
