The Coimbatore City Police were seen with an electric three-wheeled patrol vehicle at Race Course On August 14. The vehicle was officially launched by City Police Commissioner V. Balakrishnan.

City Police introduced the advanced electric three-wheeled patrol vehicle, named the 'Trikke', at Race Course. The E patrol vehicle was designed and developed by students from Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore.

The Trikke is a battery-powered bike, that will be utilized for patrolling in select areas including the Race Course walking track, Ukkadam, Valankulam, and Kurichi tanks. Its deployment is expected to enhance efficiency in areas currently monitored by foot patrols.

Furthermore, Commissioner Balakrishnan revealed plans to introduce six more Trikkes in the near future. According to the vehicle's creators, each fully charged Trikke can cover up to 31 kilometers, traveling at a speed of 12 kilometers per hour.
