The Tamil Nadu government has officially declared that the half-yearly examinations for state-run and government-aided schools will be rescheduled to December 13.

Initially slated to commence on December 11, this decision to postpone the exams was implemented statewide under the guidance of Chief Minister M K Stalin, as per an official release. The School Education Department has issued a revised timetable, rearranging the examination dates for classes 6 to 12 from December 13 to 22.

This adjustment comes in response to the aftermath of cyclone 'Michaung,' which led to the declaration of a holiday from December 4 to 9 for schools in Chennai, Chengelpet, Kancheepuram, and Tiruvallur districts. A common question paper is followed across Tamil Nadu and exams are hence postponed in all the districts, an official said.
