Congress MP H Vasanthakumar's body was Embedded in his Native village

The body of Vasantha Kumar, Congress MP and Tamil Nadu Congress executive chairman, who died of  COVID, was buried yesterday (Aug 30) in his hometown, Agastheeswaram, Kanyakumari district. All parties showed their tribute.

He was admitted to the hospital due to COVID positive on Aug 10 and succumbed to severe pneumonia on Aug 28 in Apollo hospital, Chennai.

After paid homage to his body in Kamarajar Memorial Hall at Teynampet on Saturday, his body was taken to his native village in Kanyakumari by road. After his funeral, he has taken to his parent's memorial in Agastheeswaram and buried around 11.30 am.

Vasanthakumar kicked off his career as a salesman in the VGP group for 13 years. Later he started his own Electronics and Home appliances retail company, Vasanth & Co, in 1978. He introduced the EMI system, which helped Middle-class people to fulfill their home needs.
