Actor and DMDK leader Vijayakanth, who has been undergoing treatment due to ill health for the past few years, was admitted to the MIOT Hospital in Chennai on November 18 due to fever. While he was being treated continuously, there were reports that he was being given artificial respiration. The hospital management denied this information as false and explained his health.

Also, in a statement by MIOT Hospital about Vijayakanth's health, 'Vijayakanth, admitted due to fever, is cooperating well with the treatment. His condition is stable. All his body functions are stable. Vijayakanth will return home after a few days of medical observation,'' it said.

In this case, the hospital administration said Vijayakanth's health is not stable. In a statement released by the hospital administration, "Vijayakanth's health is improving. However, since his condition has not been stable in the last 24 hours, he needs help with pulmonary treatment. We hope he will recover soon. He needs further 14 days of follow-up in the hospital."
