Earthquake Strikes Chengalpattu With Magnitude More Than 3

A mild earthquake was felt early today in the Chengalpattu district of Tamil Nadu and Vijayapura area of Karnataka. According to the National Earthquake Research Centre, it was recorded as 3.2 and 3.1 on the Richter scale, respectively. 

An earthquake was reported at Chengalpattu at 7.39 am. It was centred at a depth of 10 km underground. Reports showed light tremors in Ambur and Tirupattur areas following Chengalpattu. An earthquake occurred in Karnataka's Vijayapura today at 6.52 am. This, too, was recorded at a depth of 10 km underground.
