A minor fire incident was reported at Chennai International Airport on Tuesday morning after an electrical wire short-circuited, officials confirmed. The incident occurred around 11.30 am in the staff canteen located within the international departure area.

Airport authorities said the situation was quickly brought under control, and no casualties were reported. As a precautionary measure, airport staff immediately evacuated passengers from the affected area to ensure their safety.

According to officials from the Airports Authority of India (AAI), the evacuation was carried out smoothly and efficiently. Fire safety protocols were activated without delay, preventing the incident from escalating further.
