Former Supreme Court Judge AR Lakshmanan Passed away

Supreme Court Former Judge A.R. Lakshmanan passed away due to sudden cardiac arrest today morning. He died at Kavery Hospital in Tiruchirappalli.

His wife, Meenakshi Achchi, passed away in Karaikudi a few days ago due to ill health. this morning he succumbed to his health while receiving treatment.

A.R. Lakshmanan was 78, who had given a famous verdict banning smoking in public places. He was also a member of the Mullaiperiyaru study group.

Lakshmanan was practiced as an advocate at the Supreme Court from December 20, 2002, to March 21, 2007, and also served as Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan High Courts. After his retirement, he was designated as Chairman of the Eighteenth Law Commission of India.

The cremation ceremony will take place at his native place Devakottai at 11.30 AM.
