A minor girl underwent an illegal abortion by an unqualified doctor with the help of her parents, causing a huge stir. She is currently in critical condition and under intensive care.

Schoolgirl Pregnant:

This incident has taken place in Gudalur, The Nilgiris. A 17-year-old became pregnant five months ago after getting physical with her boyfriend during a school tour. Knowing this, the schoolgirl's parents consulted a doctor from the same area and bought an abortion pill at a pharmacy. 

Illegal Abortion:

But the student suddenly fell ill. Her parents immediately took her to a private hospital in the nearby state of Kerala. Out of the suspect, the doctors who treated her informed the Gudalur Police about the illegal abortion. Accordingly, the police conducted an investigation. 

Knowing the seriousness, the 17-year-old schoolgirl was immediately admitted to Ooty Government Hospital. Upon learning this, a team consisting of Drug Inspector Balaji, Chief Medical Officer of Gudalur Government Hospital, Suresh, and Deputy Director of Medical Services Parameshwari, led by Deputy Director of Medical Services Parameshwari, conducted an investigation with the student on the order of Nilgiris District Collector Aruna.

Then it was revealed that Ahmed Ansab, a drug shop owner from Gudalur, violated the rules by buying abortion pills from Karnataka and selling them to the public who needed to abort. 

Investigation:

The authorities immediately sealed the medical store. Officials said that a police complaint has also been filed against the doctor who prescribed the abortion pill. Following this, the police arrested a doctor named Narendra Babu for allegedly performing an illegal abortion on a schoolgirl.

A police investigation has revealed that the girl became pregnant during a school trip when she and her boyfriend spent time alone. The police have registered a case against both students under the POCSO Act and are currently investigating the incident. This news has caused a stir in Gudalur.
