Heavy Rain Expected in More Than 9 Districts In Tamil Nadu, Met Center

The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains for the next two days due to atmospheric downward circulation and convection over the northern Tamil Nadu coast and the inner districts of North Tamil Nadu.

According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain with thundershowers will occur today in Tamil Nadu, Puthuvai and Karaikal. The Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Theni, Dindigul, Tenkasi, Erode, Salem, Namakkal, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Tirupati, Kallakurichi, Karur, Trichy and Thiruvannamalai districts are likely to receive heavy rains at one or two places.

Tomorrow, light to moderate rain with thundershowers in Tamil Nadu, Puthuvai and Karaikal. Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Theni, Dindigul, Tenkasi, Erode, Salem, Namakkal, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Tirupati, Kallakurichi, Karur, Trichy, Thiruvannamalai and Perambalur districts will be likely to receive heavy showers.

For Chennai, the sky will be cloudy for the next 48 hours. The maximum temperature was recorded at 36 degrees Celsius and the minimum at 27 degrees Celsius.
