Chief Minister M. K. Stalin inspected the State Emergency Control Center at Ezhilagam, Chennai. A new low-pressure area formed in Chennai, Bay of Bengal. This depression strengthened into a depression and storm early yesterday morning. 

It was named 'Mantus'. Due to this, it rained in some places, including the northern coastal districts of Tamil Nadu. Cyclone Mandus made landfall near Mamallapuram around 2.30 am. In this situation, yesterday evening, Chief Minister M. K. Stalin inspected the State Emergency Control Center at Ezhilakam, Chennai.

At that time, he consulted with the District Collectors of Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram and Villupuram through video. He asked them about the relief work. He spoke to the people staying in relief camps in the Marakanam area of the Villupuram district. 

Later, Chief Minister M.K.Stalin met the press. Then, he told the reporters for each district Vigilance officers are appointed at the officer level to monitor what action needs to be taken and take appropriate action. Therefore, this government continues to take appropriate measures to deal with it and protect the people from whatever rain and wind blow.

People have been accommodated in a few camps in the districts. Some camps have yet to reach the point where people must be accommodated. However, they are giving proper warnings to the people. The public should cooperate with all the measures taken by the government. CM Stalin concluded that the storm operations would be completed successfully if the public cooperated fully.
