Tamil Nadu government is now taking many measures to control the rapid rise of coronavirus infected cases in Chennai. After Mumbai and Ahmadabad, Chennai becomes the worst city to be affected by the coronavirus crisis. As it is now the major hot spot in Tamil Nadu, a new scheme Our Chennai chasing COVID scheme or "Namma Chennai COVID Virattum scheme" has been started today, May 20. Also, from today all people in Chennai can have free food three times a day in all the Amma canteens again after paying for it for the last two days.

Health minister Dr. Vijayabasar, and Dr.J. Radhakrishnan IAS, the recently appointed a special nodal officer for GCC or Greater Chennai Corporation started a new scheme to control the Chennai coronavirus infection cases Called the Chennai COVID Viratum Scheme, it targets the 33 wards out of the 200 wards in Chennai, which have the most infected cases than others.

One hundred twenty health officials, along with vehicles that will camp in these wards are assigned for this scheme. The vehicles will readily available for thermal scanning, taking X-rays, swab tests, and others for testing the people. Also, they will provide immediate treatment to those having symptoms of COVID 19.

These 120 health officials will be supported by the zonal officers of the respective wards and health and sanitary workers. They will also be distributing zinc tables and masks free to the people here.
