Fire explosion at the Cuddalore crackers factory on Friday, Nine people lost their lives in the accident, including the owner.

The incident occurred in the Kurungudi village of the Kattumannarkoil region. Moreover, sources reveal that the industry has resumed work with 100% workers as per the government's relaxation in the fourth lockdown, and this explosion added fuel to the COVID curfew fire.

The deceased women have been identified as Gandhimathi, Malarkodi, Latha, Rasathi, Chitra, Rukmini, and Rathinam. Cuddalore District Superintendent of Police Sree Abhinav told the reporters that an investigation had been carried out to find the reason behind the explosion. The public claim that the small-scale cracker industry has stocked up cartons in huge amounts, but still unknown about how the accident happened.

Two people were injured while nine died, and Cuddalore SP Abhinav told that the injured are being treated at the hospital. Hearing on the news, Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy ordered Minister of Industries M.C.Sampath and Cuddalore District Collector to eye on the spot. As a helping hand, the Tamil Nadu government announced ₹2 lakhs to the kin of deceased people.
