Arthi went missing while she was playing outside the house on Saturday. After hours of searching, her parents and locals filed a complaint at the local Muthialpet station.

Several police teams were involved in searching for the nine-year-old girl child. They were searching day and night to trace Aarthi using sniffer dogs. They have also looked into some of the CCTV footage in which Aarthi was last seen. But she couldn't be found.

Based on the complaints about the horrid smell that came out of the drain, the police found the dead body of Aarthi with her hands tied and mouth strapped.

The police informed that Aarthi's body will be sent for post-mortem on Wednesday (March 6). The police also took custody of several suspects for investigation, including two teenagers and an older person.

A Special Task Force (STF) was formed in order to investigate regarding the girl's death as rape speculations arose. This tragic death of Aarthi has caused a commotion in the locality. Aarthi's parents and the local residents demand CB-CID to take over the case and call for justice from the Puducherry Chief Minister Rangaswamy.

The locals suspect that the increasing usage of Cannabis (weed) drugs among minors and teenagers might have led to the raping of the nine-year-old child. Hence, they call for immediate action as it could happen to anyone in the future.

During the investigation, the suspects who belong to the same locality, Vivekanandan (54) and Karunas (19), were arrested. It is said that the minor girl Arthi has been gang raped. The official information in detail has not been released yet.

Following this, the Justice for Arthi hashtag has been trending on social media pages.
