Actor Vivek passed away at the age of 59 due to Cardiac Arrest in a Chennai hospital early on Saturday morning.

Vivek is a well-known personality in the film industry. He is not only an actor and a comedian, but also a social activist. He has inspired children to protect and to serve the environment through his comedies.

In 2009, the Government of India awarded Vivek with the Padma Shri award to contribute to the arts. He was introduced to the film industry by the director K. Balachander.

He acted in more than 220 films and won 3 Filmfare Awards Best Comedian. He received Filmfare Awards South for his acting in the movies run (2002), Saamy (2003), and Perazhagan (2004).

Also, he received 5 Tamil Nadu State Film Awards for Best Comedian for the films Unnaruge Naan Irundhal (1999), Run (2002), Parthiban Kanavu (2003), Anniyan (2005), and Sivaji (2007). 

Yesterday morning the legendary comedian had a Cardiac arrest and was rushed to SIMS private hospital, Chennai. He was unconsciously admitted, and his pulse rate was low.

He was undergoing ECHMO, and there was a slight improvement in his health condition. Even the Public Spokesperson Nikhil Murugan said that Vivek's health is getting better.

And Saturday morning at 4.45 am, Actor Vivek passed away even after the serious treatment. It is hard to accept that an amazing personality is no more.
