Tamil Nadu Covid Update: More Than 23,000 Tested Positive Yesterday

The covid positive cases are again taking a hike in Tamil Nadu in the past two days. The cases in Chengalpattu, Coimbatore, Chennai, Erode keeps increasing. The confirmed Omicron case in Tamil Nadu is 241wheras 231 discharged. The Government is making maximum effort to control the spread.

Of the 1,41,562 samples tested in Tamil Nadu in the last 24 hours, 23,888 have been confirmed with Covid positive cases. In Chennai, 8305 people have been confirmed positive. Corona has been confirmed in 2143 people in Chengalpattu, 2228 in Coimbatore, 854 in Tiruvallur, 687 in Kanchipuram, 830 in Kanyakumari, 643 in Madurai and 517 in Tiruppur.

Accordingly, the other districts with a high number of positive cases are Cuddalore (317), Erode (777), Thirunelveli (707), Trichy (471) Krishnagiri (371), Salem (532), Thanjavur (453), Thiruvannamalai (359). The other districts are infected with less than 300 positive cases. A total of 23,888 were tested positive yesterday.

The patients under treatment in both home and hospital are 1,52,348. With this, 15,036 patients recovered and were discharged from the hospital, and the death count of yesterday is 29. Thus today is the 5th day that more than 23,000 have been reported. In Chennai, it has registered a positive case of 28.7. The day before yesterday it was 28.7, and yesterday it is the same. Tamil Nadu's positivity rate came down to 16.7 from 17 yesterday. There are 833 people in the ICU across Tamil Nadu.

The Government of Tamil Nadu keeps warning about the Covid protocols in order to avoid the spread. It is a must to follow covid protocols by maintaining social distance, wearing masks and washing hands at equal intervals. In many places, the social distance is not maintained, especially in buses where the passengers are crowding inside the bus, forgetting the social distance and masks.
