Tamil Nadu Weather: Heavy Rain Expected In Eight Districts Tonight

Tamil Nadu has been experiencing heavy rains for the past week. The heavy rains that started in the southern districts are now widespread across Tamil Nadu.

Yesterday there was heavy rain in North Districts. It also rained in Delta districts. Due to the rains, floods have occurred in lakes, ponds and rivers in Tamil Nadu. Mettur dam has been opened, and 2.10 lakh cubic feet of water is being released due to the increasing water flow in Cauvery.

Chennai Meteorological Department has stated that there is a chance of very heavy rain in the Nilgiris and Coimbatore districts today. It was heavy rain in Nilgiris and Coimbatore yesterday. Due to this, there was uncontrollable traffic in Coimbatore. In Nilgiris, there is frequent powercut due to heavy breeze and continuous rain.

Also, heavy rain is expected in Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Erode, Salem, Kallakurichi, and Tirupur districts. Light rain may occur in a few places in Chennai during the next 48 hours.
