Tamil Nadu Weather Report: Heavy Rain Pours In Madurai District

The Chennai Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rain in southern districts and in northern coastal districts today. Due to this, schools in a few districts have announced holidays.

Meanwhile, it has been raining heavily in the southern districts since last night. Thus, roads in various parts are surrounded by rainwater and the public are in need of help. Due to heavy rains, schools and colleges in Madurai and Virudhunagar districts have announced a holiday today.

Similarly, Namakkal district has been receiving heavy rains since last night. Due to this, only schools in the Namakkal district will be closed today (December 4), and it is said that the colleges will be working. The respective district collectors have announced the holiday for schools. Holidays have been declared only for schools in Thoothukudi as well.

The rainfall has decreased in Tamil Nadu in the last three days due to the northeast monsoon. According to the Met Office, it will rain again today due to the low-pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal. Similarly, it has been raining heavily in Madurai since early this morning.
