Tamil Nadu Weather Report: Red Alert For Three Districts

In a statement released by the Chennai Meteorological Department, the low-pressure area that prevailed in the Bay of Bengal yesterday is prevailing in the Southwest Bay of Bengal along the Sri Lankan coast today. It may strengthen slightly in the next 24 hours and move towards Tamil Nadu and Puduwai coast on the 10th to 12th. 

Due to this, light to moderate rain with thundershowers may occur in many places over Tamil Nadu, Puduvai and Karaikal. Thiruvallur, Chennai, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Kallakurichi, Cuddalore, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Mayiladuthurai, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagai, Pudukottai, Sivagangai, Ramanathapuram districts received heavy rain today. 

Very heavy rain at one or two places inThiruvallur, Ranipet, Kanchipuram, Chennai, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Vellore, Tirupattur, Thiruvannamalai, Kallakurichi, Cuddalore, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Trichy, Tanjore, Thiruvarur, Nagai, Mayiladuthurai districts tomorrow.

Heavy to very heavy rain is expected at Dharmapuri, Salem, Nagai, Karur, Pudukottai, Sivagangai, Ramanathapuram, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Theni, Dindigul, Tirupur, Coimbatore and Nilgiris districts. For Chennai and its suburbs, the sky will remain partly cloudy for the next 24 hours. Moderate to heavy rain with thundershowers may occur in a few parts of the city.
