The Supreme Court adjourned the hearing on the Tamil Nadu government's writ petition against the NEET exam for 12 weeks.

The Tamil Nadu government filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court in 2020 against the amendment to the law that made NEET compulsory. The Tamil Nadu government has made some amendments to this petition and submitted it again.

In the petition, the Tamil Nadu government mentioned detailed statistics on how rural students have been affected by the amendment to make NEET mandatory for admission to medical courses.

Following this, the hearing on the writ petition filed by the Tamil Nadu government against the amendment to the law, which made the NEET examination mandatory, was held today (October 14). The Tamil Nadu government then argued that the bill against the NEET examination was pending before the President. Following this, the Supreme Court adjourned the hearing for 12 weeks.
