Tamil Nadu C.M announced Rs. 50 lakhs consolation fund for the policemen death in Thoothukudi. A police officer Subramanian who was injured in a bomb blast while trying to catch Thoothukudi Rowdy Durai Muthu was dead on spot.

Conveying his condolences via tweet, Edappadi K. Palaniswami stated, "Unfortunately, the news of the death of policeman Subramanian while trying to catch the culprits of the murder in Thoothukudi is heartbreaking. I have ordered him to provide government service to one member of the family on merit basis with a fund of Rs.50 lakhs to his family".

Police have received a tip-off that sand looting is taking place in the Thamirabarani river and yet to happen bomb attack. Police have gone to arrest Rowdy Duraimuthu, who was wanted in connection with the double murder case under the guidance of Shrivaikuntam SI Murugaperumal.

When the police went to catch Rowdy Duraimuthu near Vallanadu Manakkarai in Thoothukudi district, he fled and threw a grenade at the police. The bomb exploded and police officer Subramanian was injured and died on the spot.

Visiting the spot, Thoothukudi SP S Jeyakumar said that the constable Subramaniam was severely injured with a shattered head. Meanwhile, several other officials are being injured and also under medication.

On the other hand, Duraimuthu and his gang also injured highly. Somehow, the special operation got notified in varied means.

C.M. Edappadi K. Palaniswami deeply consoled the government employee who lost his breathe serving the nation in Thoothukudi.

Apart from the regrets, Tamil Nadu government announced ₹50 lakhs consolation amount to the deceased's family and ordered to provide a job to one of the family members based on eligibility.
