TN Flood: Pregnant Women Rescued By IAF Video Goes Viral

Due to heavy rain, Tamil Nadu has been facing very hard times for the past two months. The southern districts of Thoothukudi, Kanyakumari and Tirunelveli have received heavy rains for the past two days.

Meanwhile, heavy rains in the Tuticorin district caused huge damage to railway tracks. The Tiruchendur express train from Tiruchendur to Chennai stopped at Srivaikuntam last night.

Around 800 passengers were on the train, and 300 weresangers were rescued by buses and vans. A helicopter was deployed to rescue the remaining 500 passengers. In the first phase, food was delivered to the stranded passengers by helicopter since the roads were flooded and broke down.

As a part of it, four people, including a pregnant woman caught in the flood, were rescued by an army helicopter from Sulur and brought to Madurai airport.

Pregnant woman Anusuya Mayil, husband Perumal, mother Sethu Lakshmi and child Das Varun from Srivaikuntam were safely rescued.

They were taken by ambulance from Madurai Airport to Government Rajaji Hospital for first aid treatment. Four people, including a pregnant woman, are being treated there. Anusuya's mother said that Anusuya was fine. The rescue video of the pregnant woman and her family goes viral on social media.
