DMK MP Raja said there had been malpractice in the 5G spectrum auction. The 5G auction, which should have gone for Rs.5 lakh crore, has gone for Rs.1.50 lakh crore. He also insisted that the Central Government should answer as to where the rest of the money went.

A few months ago, the Union Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the auction of the 5G spectrum in India. If this 5G service is introduced, internet facilities will be available to the public, which is ten times faster than 4G.

The government has auctioned a total of 72,098 MHz of spectrum. Of this, 51.236 MHz was auctioned for Rs.1,50,173 crore. Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Jio received 24,740 MHz of spectrum in the 700, 800, 1800, 3300 MHz and 26 GHz bands.

DMK Member of Parliament A. Raja told the media that after the 2G spectrum auction, the government had lost Rs 1.76 lakh crore. There have been malpractice in the 5G spectrum auction. The central government has said that the 5G spectrum will be auctioned for Rs.5 lakh crore. But it has gone to Rs.1.5 lakh crore. The central government must answer where the rest of the money went. He alleged that the 5G auction was not conducted properly.
