Apple To Stops Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 In The US

Apple Watches

Apple has announced that it will stop selling its Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 models in the US.

This follows a decision by the International Trade Commission (ITC) in a patent dispute between Apple and Masimo, a medical technology company. Masimo alleges that Apple Watch's blood oxygen sensor technology infringes on multiple patents Masimo owns.

Due to this, customers cannot purchase the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 models in the US market through the Apple Online Store and retail stores. It has been announced that sales of both devices will continue in countries other than the US.

In this regard, 9to5Mac has revealed that Apple has infringed patents registered by Masimo regarding the built-in oxygen sensing feature. Subsequently, it has been mentioned that the International Trade Federation has banned the importation of selected Apple Watch models to the United States.

Apple has completely denied the allegations related to the Massimo patent and said it is working to resume sales of the Apple Watch. US President Joe Biden is expected to make a final decision by December 25.

Following this, Apple has decided to appeal against the decision of the International Trade Federation on December 26.
