The number of Facebook users worldwide is increasing day by day. Facebook has been accused of misusing user data.

In 2018, the popular social network Facebook was sued in a US court for allowing the British political consulting firm Cambridge Analytica of England to misuse the information of American Facebook users during the 2016 US presidential election.

The investigation of this case has been going on for more than four years. Facebook's parent company Meta has agreed to pay a fine of $725 million (approximately Rs 6000 crore in Indian currency).

Following this, the case was closed. But, while admitting it, they have said that they have not done anything wrong and have agreed to pay the penalty in the interest of our users and investors.
