Xiaomi's sub-brand Redmi has officially confirmed that the Redmi Note 17 series will debut in China later this month. Although the company has not revealed the launch date or specifications, leaks suggest the lineup will include the Redmi Note 17, Redmi Note 17 Pro, and Redmi Note 17 Pro Max.
Adding to speculation about a wider rollout, two Xiaomi smartphones carrying the model numbers 2607DRA181 and 2607DPC181 have recently appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification website.
While the listings do not confirm the marketing names, they hint that the Redmi Note 17 series could arrive in India in the coming months.
Succeeding the Redmi Note 15
The upcoming lineup will succeed the Redmi Note 15, which was launched in India earlier this year with a starting price of Rs 22,999.
The predecessor featured a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, a 108MP dual-camera system, and a 5,520mAh battery with 45W fast charging.
What to Expect from the Redmi Note 17 Series
According to recent leaks, Redmi is planning several hardware upgrades across the Note 17 family. Both the standard and Pro variants are expected to feature a larger 6.83-inch flat OLED display with 1.5K resolution, delivering sharper visuals while retaining smooth performance for gaming and multimedia.
The standard Redmi Note 17 is tipped to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset and may support 67W fast charging, a noticeable improvement over its predecessor.
Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 17 Pro could arrive with the newer Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor and a massive 9,000mAh battery, making it one of the largest battery capacities seen in a mainstream smartphone. The device is also expected to include dual stereo speakers, improved cooling, and HyperOS 3.1 based on Android 16.
Redmi Note 17 Pro Max is rumoured to launch separately next month. It could feature a MediaTek Dimensity 7500 chipset, a 200MP primary camera, and an even larger 10,100mAh battery, targeting users looking for flagship-style photography and extended battery life.
All three smartphones are expected to feature improved water resistance, upgraded cameras, and Xiaomi's latest software experience. If Redmi follows its usual launch strategy, the series is likely to arrive in global markets, including India, a few months after its China debut.
