According to Bloomberg, the Tatas have held preliminary talks with Taipei-based Wistron about forming a joint venture to manufacture iPhones in India.

It was reported yesterday (September 9) that the leading Indian company Tata Group is collaborating with the Taiwanese company Wistron to manufacture iPhones in India.

Days after Apple unveiled its iPhone 14 series at its 'Far Out' event, a report from Bloomberg on Friday said Tata Group plans to manufacture iPhones in India. The company is in talks with Taiwan-based Wistron Corporation for the same.

According to the report, Wistron, Apple's supplier, will establish an electronics manufacturing joint venture in India with the Tata Group, which is said to be in talks.

If the talks come regarding the same in the coming days, Tata Group is expected to become the first Indian company to manufacture Apple iPhones in India. After the project's success, Tata Group will reportedly buy Wistron's stake in India, and the two companies will set up an assembly unit in the country.
